Open recognition settings

In Start Speaking, select Portuguese, then open Settings → Recognition → On this iPhone.

Wait for Ready

If Download and enable appears, tap it. Wait for Ready and the checkmark beside On this iPhone.

Try it without a connection

Turn on Airplane Mode and turn Wi-Fi off. Start a new session: listen to a phrase, speak, and get your result.

Progress and history stay on your device. Check that the voice for model phrases is downloaded, too. If the speech model is not ready, finish preparing it on Wi-Fi; text mode lets you practice without speech recognition.

Prepare while connected

Open the app while you have internet access. Complete the Apple-managed speech-model download for Brazilian Portuguese if the app asks for it. Use a supported iPhone and select on-device recognition for offline speaking practice.
